About the Conference Speakers:

THOMAS BEAVERS
Utilizing Technology for Outreach

Pastor Thomas Beavers serves as the 4th Pastor of the New Rising Star Church in the Eastlake community of Birmingham, AL. He graduated with BS Biology from Kentucky State University in 2004, and MDIV May 2007 & DMIN December 2013 from Beeson Divinity School of Samford University. He succeeded his grandfather, Dr. Tommy Chappell, who served as New Rising Star's third pastor for 35 years in 1975-2010.

As the servant leader of New Rising Star Church (also known as THE STAR & #TEAMSTAR), Dr. Beavers leads several efforts that impact the community, which include but are not limited to the following: education, financial literacy, workforce development, housing, recreation, and the church. The goal is twofold: to preach the gospel for the purpose of enlarging Heaven, and to develop people in the community so that they may have access to a better quality of life on earth.

Amidst the pandemic, Pastor Beavers is about to launch his church in two more locations and also a ministry in another area. He has mastered how to do hybrid church and maximize the online platform to accomplish both his specialties—church planting and revitalization.

SCOT POLLOK
How to Communicate the Word and the Gospel with Application Towards Transformation

Scot Pollok was born and raised in South Texas. He trusted in Jesus and first understood the gospel as a freshman at Texas A&M University. God changed Scot’s plans of an education in science and medical school into a passion for the Scriptures, the local church, and shepherding people, which he has been pursuing since.

During and after his undergraduate studies, Scot served the local church in student ministry for more than a decade. He then entered Dallas Theological Seminary, where he earned his Masters in Theology. During and after his graduate school tenure, Scot began serving Faith Bible Church in The Woodlands, Texas, as Lead Pastor, a position he held until December 2021. Since then, Scot has continued serving the church as a frequent speaker and preacher around the country, a church consultant in the areas of preaching, discipleship, and leadership, an adjunct professor at Grace School of Theology, and a student in their Doctor of Ministry program.

GREG WALLACE
Efficiency Unleashed: A Proven Strategy for Organizational Effectiveness

Pastor Greg Wallace is a native of Arkansas, where he attended the University of Central Arkansas on a football scholarship. He received his Bachelor of Arts in Theology from Southwest College. In 1985, after a successful career in business, he began his ministry as pastor of Calvary Baptist Church in Childress, TX. In 1987, Greg was the founding pastor of First Baptist Church of Atascocita.

The church, now Woodridge Baptist, has grown to 800 + in attendance each week. He retired from Woodridge Baptist Church in 2017 and now serves as Pastor Emeritus. He is the author of Only One Way to Live, published in 2004; and Taking the 4x4 Challenge, published by Baptist Way Press.

D.Z. COFIELD
Revitalizing the Post-Pandemic Church

D.Z. Cofield serves as the senior pastor of the historic Good Hope Missionary Baptist Church in Houston, Texas. He is the founder of Hope for Families, Inc., and Hope Educational Services, non-profit organizations committed to rebuilding communities by providing holistic needs to families and implementing innovative educational strategies for children.

He earned a Bachelor's Degree at Swarthmore College, a Masters Degree in Theology at the Dallas Theological Seminary and a Doctor of Ministry Degree at Faith Evangelical Seminary in Tacoma, Washington.

Dr. Cofield has received numerous community honors and awards, including the Presidential Scholarship Award at Dallas Theological Seminary, the H. A. Ironside Award for excellence in expository preaching, and was also listed in Who’s Who among Students in Colleges and Universities for three consecutive years.
