Upon completion of this course, you will be able to:

  • Discover the historical context of the Scripture passages and indicate how the context shapes our understanding of the Bible passage.

  • Identify the literary genre of any given passage of Scripture and demonstrate an ability to interpret that passage in a manner appropriate to the genre.

  • Analyze, select, and use appropriate Bible study tools.

  • Explain the meaning of any passage of Scripture - with discriminate analytic discernment to detect improper interpretations of Scripture.

  • Think and evaluate concepts in Bible study methodology by engaging in critical thinking about the course material.

  • Recognize and accomplish the chief goal of Bible study—to change lives by word and fall deeper in love with God.
